A former Marksville City Marshal who is one of two accused in the death of a 6-year-old boy is headed to trial as jury selection is slated to get underway this morning. Derrick Stafford is facing charges of second-degree murder, and attempted second-degree murder for Mardis’ father Chris Few. Stafford and Norris Greenhouse Jr. are accused of firing at the victims’ vehicle in late 2015 when the first grader was killed, and Few critically injured. Greenhouse Jr. is slated to be tried beginning June 12th.
