An LSU Public Policy Polling survey done for the state’s film industry shows 80% of Louisianians think it’s good for the economy to have movies made here…

The Union Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Downsville woman and her nephew after a fight at a family gathering. Authorities say 24-year-old Johnny Franks, Jr. accused his uncle of disrespecting him by asking him to leave a hamburger for another guest and threw several objects at him. When officers arrived, 68-year-old Gloria Cashion fought with and drove her car toward them. Franks is charged with aggravated battery. Cashion is charged with attempted assault on the deputies and resisting arrest.

According to Secretary of State Tom Schedler, the fastest growing group of registered voters in Louisiana are says Independent or “No Party” voters. Schedler believes the rise is the result of the constant bickering between the Republican and Democratic party on the national level…

Schedler says the “No Party” trend is happening across the country.

National Infant Immunization Week is this week and the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals encourages families to get their infants immunized. DHH Immunization Medical Director, Dr. Frank Welch, says everyone has an opinion about vaccinations, but in this case you really want an educated opinion…
