Prosecutors in the trial of 22-yr-old Derrick “Woo” Groves – accused of shooting five people and killing two in a bloody incident on Fat Tuesday 2018 – say the defendant is a Lower 9th Ward drug dealer with a willingness to kill that belies his youth. Groves has received two life sentences for the Mardi Gras slayings, but now faces more charges for two more murders in 2017 and 2019. Just an all-around bad dude.

Young porch pirates in Metairie are using some kind of flyer to cover their images while they steal parcels from peoples’ homes. The juvenile thieves tape or post the flyer OVER homes’ doorbell cameras, but a few have recorded images of the kids’ faces. Jefferson Parish deputies say they are investigating.
