Deputies with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office need the public’s help in locating a vehicle that hit and killed a man in Albany over the weekend. They say they found 27-year-old Cleveland Mareal Barnes, Jr. of Tickfaw, La. in the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies believe Barnes was run over by a vehicle that left the scene. Officials say there is no description of a vehicle or a suspect. Please contact authorities if you have information on this incident.

A group which leans Democrat has asked for an investigation into a $100,000 alleged transfer of funds from US Senator David Vitter’s federal campaign account to a PAC which supports his candidacy for governor. The American Democracy Legal Fund announced the complaint is filed with the Louisiana ethics board.
