Former KKK leader and Republican U.S. Senate candidate David Duke has been invited to participate in a November 2nd televised debate as he received 5-percent of the vote in a Raycom Media poll. Executive Director of the Louisiana Democratic Party Stephen Handwerk says this is not good:

A Covington lawmaker is looking to change the state’s recall procedure saying Louisiana’s process makes it nearly impossible to remove an elected official from office. Petitioners in Jefferson Parish need thirty three and a third percent of the total number of registered voters signatures’ to be successful in the effort to recall parish president Mike Yenni over his sexting scandal. Representative Paul Hollis says the turnout in the Jefferson Parish President race last year was 90,000, despite the fact that there are 270,000 people who can vote..:

He believes Louisiana should do what other states do and base signature requirements on the percentage of people who voted in the election.

Authorities say an LSU student was arrested amid charges she was vomiting on students during the game Saturday night in Tiger Stadium, then kicked an arresting officer multiple times. They say 20-year-old Renuka Koritala also had suspected weed and a pipe on her person.
