A Baton Rouge man who has been in jail for nearly 46 years on a rape charge will walk free today. A state judge set a $2,000 bond for Wilbert Jones and he’s expected to be released from prison Wednesday morning. Jones’ conviction was tossed following a ruling that the state withheld evidence that would have resulted in a different result at the trial.

The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is holding a large nuclear Prevention Exercise today on the Mississippi River near the Port of Baton Rouge.
