Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand releases new information regarding the spying scandal involving a person hired by the David Vitter Campaign. Normand says he’s been able to recover deleted recordings from the device of PI Robert Frenzel. He says one of the videos shows the owner of the PI firm trying to coerce someone into saying a blog written by Jason Berry on Vitter’s previous relationship with a prostitute, was false.

Secretary of State Tom Schedler says it appears more voters are participating during early voting in this election than for the primary. He thinks voters are much more engaged with the runoff election, possibly because the ballot is smaller and the candidates are more recognizable….
