Governor John Bel Edwards urges residents to use caution as Tropical Storm Cindy has come ashore in Cameron Parish. Halen Doughty has more..:

Winds are around 40 miles per hour and Cindy has already been a big rain maker in some areas. The eastern portion of the state is under a tornado watch through the early afternoon hours.

The LSU baseball team faced elimination Wednesday night at the College World Series in Omaha, but the team pulled through for a 7-4 win against Florida State. The Tigers advance to play Oregon State again on Friday at 2 p.m.

The Louisiana National Guard wants residents to know they are ready if assistance is needed from the flooding Cindy may produce. Major General Glenn Curtis says they have pre-staged 100 high water vehicles and 33 boats throughout the southern and central regions of the state…:

State officials will host a second news conference to discuss the latest information on the storm later this morning.

Governor John Bel Edwards says people who flooded in last year’s storms are not completing the survey to get federal assistance as quickly as they’d hoped. He says only 26,000 have completed the form so far at restore.la.gov, which he reminds residents is not related to FEMA…:
