The Saints have a two-game winning streak after holding on to beat the Indianapolis Colts 27-21. It looked like New Orleans would have an easy win in Indy, but the Colts mounted a furious comeback to have a chance in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Drew Brees threw for 255 yards and one touchdown. The Saints improve to 3-4 and will host Eli Manning and the New York Giants Sunday.

In Southland Conference football Saturday, McNeese remains undefeated on the season after beating Northwestern State 47-27, it was Southeastern Louisiana over Houston Baptist 22-7, and Sam Houston State crushed Nicholls State 37-7.

LSU enters the bye week with a perfect 7-0 record after beating Western Kentucky 48 to 20 in a mud-filled game at Tiger Stadium. It’s the eighth time the Tigers have started the season 7-0, but Coach Les Miles says there’s still room for improvement….

In the Sun Belt, ULM fell to an 0-3 league mark after losing to Idaho 27-13. The Warhawks, who are 1-6 for the season overall, tied the game at 13 with a little over 9 minutes left in the third quarter, but the Vandals answered with a 9 play, 79 yard touchdown drive to give them the lead for good. ULM travels to face UL-Lafayette at Cajun Field Saturday night.
