Two former Saints players and a couple of former LSU Tigers are among the nominees for the Pro Football Hall of Fame 2017 induction class. Kicker Morten Andersen and linebacker Sam Mills are on the list of 94 players. The two ex-Tigers up for induction into the hall are offensive linemen Kevin Mawae and Alan Faneca.

LSU’s senior starting tight end Colin Jeter says the offense is ready to play hard for whoever starts at quarterback this Saturday against Mississippi State. Coach Les Miles has strongly hinted that Danny Etling will be the guy, but Jeter says the offense is ready to make plays for whoever is under center…

And Jeter will likely be blocking for running back Leonard Fournette this Saturday. Coach Les Miles expects the All-American to play against the Bulldogs after practicing yesterday.

The Pelicans have announced the signing of guard Lance Stephenson. Stephenson will have a chance to have a major role on this team, because Tyreke Evans is still rehabbing a knee injury and Jrue Holiday will be away from basketball as his pregnant wife battles a brain tumor. Stephenson has a breakoutseason in 2013-14, but hasn’t been the same player since.
