Governor John Bel Edwards says Louisiana largely avoided any damage from Hurricane Nate over the weekend, as the system is labeled the fastest moving storm in the Gulf of Mexico. The National Weather Service said Nate’s movement at 28 mph over a 12-hour period Saturday, sets a new Gulf record for speed of a storm. The storm made landfall along the Mississippi coast, but Edwards said a shift of a mere 50 miles to the West would have brought damaging winds and life-threatening storm surges to the state.

And that current statewide average for a gallon of regular is $2.29, up almost a nickle from the prior week.
With the decline in diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Cuba, any hope of exporting Louisiana goods is shrinking. State Agricultural Commissioner Mike Strain says working on the issues between the two nations is of top priority…:
