Former Department of Health and Hospitals Secretary Bruce Greenstein, who was indicted on nine felony counts of perjury, turned himself in Thursday. An East Baton Rouge grand jury indictment accuses Greenstein of lying under oath on numerous occasions when asked about his role in a bid process in which DHH, under Greenstein’s leadership, handed out a nearly $200 million contract to his former employer. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish prison and released yesterday.

Louisiana Ag officials are seeking looser restrictions from the federal government on the use of drones. The United States Department of Defense reports that Sgt. 1st Class Andrew T. Weathers, 30, of DeRidder, LA died from his injuries after his unit was attacked in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
