Shreveport Representative Thomas Carmody has no plans to bring back a bill seeking to protect Confederate monuments as the controversial statues are coming down across the South. Carmody says legislation is no longer necessary…:Cut 4 (07) “be down”

Carmody attempted to pass a proposed law to require a public vote, before a military monument could be taken down, but it didn’t make it out of the Senate side.

Michael Tyler, better known as Louisiana rapper Mystikal, has turned himself in to authorities in Caddo Parish on rape charges. Sgt. Paula Farquhar (far-kwar), with the Shreveport Police Department, says Tyler is accused of raping a woman at a casino last year…:

Wildlife and Fisheries agents in Calcasieu Parish have arrested a man in the fatal boating incident Sunday that killed an 8-year-old boy. Agents say that 35-year-old Eddie Dunwoody of Texas was operating a 19-foot bass boat and was impaired when he crashed the vessel. A child occupant sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
