Louisiana Republican Congressman Steve Scalise has been elected to House majority leader. Scalise, who served as Republican Whip for the past 8 years, issued a statement in response to the election saying his focus will be on the struggles of hardworking families and reducing inflation and energy costs. LSU’s Golden Band from Tigerland has received a Grammy Award nomination. The band’s collaboration with Lake Charles musician Sean Ardoin is in the running for best regional roots album for the 2023 ceremony.
