Ascension Parish State Representative ‘Kathy’ Edmonston breaks her silence after her drunk driving arrest Tuesday night. In a written statement, MS. Edmonston called the situation a “wakeup call” that has pushed her to “evaluate … personal choices” and asks forgiveness from her constituents. The legislative session begins next week.

Senator John Kennedy has asked President Trump for more time for Louisiana drivers’ licenses to become REAL ID compliant. After the October 1st deadline, one will not be able to fly in the U.S. without a REAL ID. Kennedy’s letter to the President asks for an extension to (quote) “…ensure the transition to REAL IDs does not disrupt the lives or livelihoods of hardworking citizens.”
Louisiana Tech receives a $1.2 million grant from the National Science Foundation to foster computer science education in north Louisiana. Dean of the College of Education at Louisiana Tech Don Schillinger says the money will help attract students into fields of study to become STEM educators…
