The Saints have made some roster moves in response to two starters going down with signifcant injuries. Wide receiver Brandin Cooks and safety Rafael Bush have been put on injured-reserve, which means they can’t play again this year. Bush joins fellow safety Jairus Byrd on I-R, to make up for that loss, New Orleans has added Terrence Frederick and Pierre Warren to their 53 man roster. Frederick was on the Saints practice squad and Warren was with the Black and Gold during training camp. The Saints return to the practice field tomorrow to get ready for their Monday night matchup with the Baltimore Ravens.

The Pelcians are off tonight after beating Sacramento 106 to 100 last night. Anthony Davis led the way with 28 points and nine rebounds. Ryan Anderson came off the bench and hit four three-pointers and finished with 22 points. New Orleans is at Denver on Friday night.

The LSU men’s basketball team beat Texas Tech 69 to 64 in overtime last night. Jordan Mickey led four players in double figures with 18 points.

USA Today released its annual report on college football coaches salaries. Les Miles is the seventh highest paid coach according to the ranking at four-three-million dollars. Nick Saban is the highest paid. His total pay is seven-point-one million.

A win for Louisiana Tech on Saturday and the Bulldogs will clinch the Western Division of Conference USA. Head Coach Skip Holtz says he’s talked to his team about staying focused on their opponent, Old Dominion, and not worrying about the division standings…

A federal grand jury has handed down indictments to a total of 13 people from Louisiana and one from Texas in connection with a methamphetimine distribution ring in South Central Louisiana. Some defendants face up to 20 years in prison, while others face up to life inprisonment. The arrests are part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force.

Louisiana State Police say a pedestrian was struck and killed this morning around 1am in Lafourche Parish. They say a GMC Sierra was traveling on LA 316 in Houma when it hit 29-year-old Tyler Authement (Oh-De-Mah) who was walking in the same lane. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Impairment is not suspected on the part of the driver of the Sierra and no charges have been filed at this time.

Record temperatures were recorded throughout southeast Louisiana over night. Baton Rouge hit 27 degrees which broke the previous record of 28 degrees back in 1930. Kendric has been identified as the shooter in the death of Joseph, while Lemark is the alleged getaway driver. It is reported that both men have criminal histories. Coppola says the investigation is ongoing and little is known about the incident at this time…

It is reported that Joseph was trying to diffuse the situation when the shooting occurred. Lemark has been charged with accessory to second degree murder and other charges due to his involvement. Louisiana State Police say a Coushatta woman who wasn’t buckled up died in a crash last night in Red River Parish. They say 44-year-old Salley Giddens was hit from behind when she was stopped waiting to turn into a private drive on Highway 71. Her car was thrown into the opposite lane of traffic and hit by a truck. LSP says Giddens wasn’t restrained and suffered fatal injuries in the crash.

The Saints have played wide receiver Brandin Cooks on injured reserve, which ends his rookie season. Cooks had surgery on his broken thumb earlier this week. Safety Rafael Bush is also on I-R with a broken fibula. Defensive back Terrence Frederick and safety Pierre Warren have been added to the team’s 53-man roste. Warren was with the Saints during training camp.

It’s the final home game of the year this Saturday for the Ragin Cajuns, who will face Appalachian State. Coach Mark Hudspeth is hopeful they’ll have the biggest crowd of the season…

Nice win for the LSU men’s basketball team last night as they rallied to beat Texas Tech 69-64 in overtime. The Tigers trailed by 12 points at halftime, and scored four points in four and half-seconds in the final minute to tie the game. Jordan Mickey and Jarrell Martin led the way for LSU with double-doubles. Martin had 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Mickey had 18 points and 14 boards.

Also last night….McNeese state walloped Louisiana College 90 to 63. Austin Lewis set a new school record with 11 blocked shots. Also last night,. Grambling defeated Lyon College 55-49.

Anthony Davis had 28 points to help the Pelicans beat Sacramento 106-100 last night. Davis also had nine rebounds and three blocked shots. Ryan Anderson contributed 22 points off the bench as he hit four three-pointers. The Pels four-game road trip continues Friday in Denver.

The Baton Rouge Police Department has made two arrests in connection with the death of a West St. John High School Football Coach. They say 25-year-old Lentrell Cloud is charged with second degree murder for allegeldy shooting 27-year-old Juan Joseph outside of a nightclub in Baton Rouge over the weekend. The other man arrested was 25-year-old Lemark Cloud who is accused of being the getaway driver. The two suspects are cousins.
