The Ragin Cajuns were ready to play last night and they handed LSU it’s second consecutive loss as U-L Lafayette beat the defending national champions seven to two. The Cajuns jumped on the Tigers in the first inning, scoring three runs off LSU’s starting pitcher Gavin Guidry. The Tigers committed two errors in the inning and U-L Coach Matt Deggs gives credit to Cajun Nation for making a difference…

Cut 28 (18) “…hard to handle”

Cody Brasch was the winning pitcher and freshman Sawyer Pruitt pitched four shutout innings for the save. LSU was limited seven hits, three of them off the bat of Derek Curiel. But the Tigers also committed three errors to fall to 10-3 on the season.

Nicholls pulled off the upset last night, beating 10th ranked Southern Miss three to two. Four Colonels pitches held the Golden Eagles to a season low five hits. Tyler Austin was the winning pitcher with three shutout innings.

Louisiana Tech lost again, falling to Arkansas State eight to two. Southeastern Louisiana thumped ULM 16 to 6, McNeese over LSU-A 12 to 2.

The LSU women’s basketball team will enter the SEC Tournament as a projected number-two seed in the NCAA Tournament. ESPN bracketologist Charlie Crème says the Tigers could elevate to a number-one seed with an impressive showing in Greenville this week.

LSU will play in the quarterfinals tomorrow afternoon, possibly against Oklahoma.

Big baseball game tonight in Lafayette as second ranked LSU visits the Ragin Cajuns. The Tigers are coming off a five-game homestand where they lost to McNeese and Northeastern and they are not swinging the bats well. Catcher Cade Arrambide says despite their struggles they are sticking together…

The Ragin Cajuns are 9-and-3 and their pitching staff has struck out 133 hitters in 118 innings.

Louisiana Tech continues to struggle as they were blown out again last night falling to Arkansas State ten to two. That’s four consecutive losses in Ruston for the Bulldogs. First time that’s happened since 2014.

LSU men’s basketball lost again last night, falling to Auburn 88 to 74.

 

Tuesday night was a good night for Southland Conference baseball teams as all of the Louisiana schools won. Southeastern Louisiana thumped ULM 15 to 5 snapping the Warhawks six-game winning streak , Northwestern State scored 11 runs in the first inning as the Demons went on to beat Grambling 13 to 1. Colton Harrison hit a three-run home run. McNeese knocked off Southern 14 to 5 as Jairus Miller had another stellar pitching performance and Nicholls edged Tulane six to five as first baseman Caston Thompson hit two home runs for the Colonels.

At the Sun Belt men’s basketball tournament…ULM’s season is over as they lost to Old Dominion, while the Ragin Cajuns advanced to the next round by beating Georgia State 84 to 75. Jaxon Olvera had a career-high 29 points. The Cajuns play again today at 5 PM against James Madison.

At the girls high school basketball tournament…semifinal action…Holy Savior Menard upset top seeded Lafayette Christian 45 to 43. Pitkin beat Fairview in overtime 80 to 79 and Westlake defeated Oak Grove 46 to 45.

LSU baseball is ranked 2nd, but had a clunker last night, falling to Northeastern 13-10. At one point, the Huskies led 10 to nothing. A couple of rough pitching performances for the Tigers as lefty Cooper Williams gave up four runs in the second inning and Zac Cowan’s early season struggles also continued as he allowed four runs in 1.2 innings. LSU is at U-L Lafayette tomorrow.

ULM has won six in a row heading into tonight’s game against Southeastern Louisiana. The Warhawks swept Western Illinois last weekend and senior third baseman Jake Haggard drove in nine runs. Coach Ford Pemperton says Haggard put in the work in the offseason…

The sixth-ranked LSU women’s basketball team will have an opportunity to strengthen its case for a number-one seed with a strong showing in the SEC Tournament this week. While the Tigers could improve their NCAA Tournament positioning, head coach Kim Mulkey is not placing significant emphasis on the tournament.

LSU’s first game of the tournament will be Friday at 1:30 p.m and they could play Oklahoma, who has won six in a row.

The Sun Belt Tournament gets underway in Pensacola. The Cajuns face Georgia State and ULM will take on Old Dominion.

LSU men’s basketball also in action tonight as they visit a struggling Auburn team.

The second ranked LSU baseball team suffered its second loss of the season last night falling to Northeastern 13 to 10. At one point the Huskies led 10 to nothing as Cooper Williams and Zac Cowan had rough outings on the mound. The bats were also quiet once again for most of the game. College basketball..McNeese dribbled past Nicholls 75 to 65, Northwestern lost 74 to 62 to UTRGV and Southeastern Louisiana upset UNO 82 to 78, but the Lions still miss the Southland Tournament.

 

The ULM baseball team is riding a six-game winning streak, and the Warhawks look to make it seven straight tonight when they host Southeastern at six p.m. ULM scored 34 runs in its three-game sweep over Western Illinois. Coach Ford Pemberton says he likes how his team executed in the batter’s box.

The Louisiana Tech baseball team looks to bounce back against Arkansas State tonight after being swept by 10th ranked Southern Miss. Coach Lane Burroughs says his team has to forget about the sloppy weekend.

The LSU baseball team improved to 11-and-1 yesterday afternoon with a three to nothing win over Dartmouth. William Schmidt was dominant on the mound as he threw a career-high seven and a third innings, striking out nine, allowing four hits and no walks. Schmidt has better command of his pitches this season and he explained why following yesterday’s start…

Tough weekend for Louisiana Tech as the Bulldogs were swept by 12th ranked Southern Miss. Tech lost all three games by a combined score of 25-5. Coach Lane Burroughs is not hitting the panic button…

La Tech will host Arkansas State for a two-game midweek series starting tomorrow night.

 

The Cajuns won two of three from U-C San Diego over the weekend. Nice job by U-L Lafayette’s bullpen as Cody Brasch earned his second save by retiring five of the seven hitters he faced.  UL-Lafayette hosts LSU Wednesday night.

ULM swept a series from Western Illinois. The Warhawks have won six in a row and in their last five games they’ve scored double-digit runs. ULM begins a two-game midweek series against Southeastern Louisiana on Tuesday.

The Lions are coming off a series victory over Northwestern State. The Demons won yesterday on Colton Harrison’s two-run home run in the eighth inning.

Nicholls salvage the final game of its series with McNeese as the Colonels defeated the Cowboys three to two yesterday.

Nicholls and McNeese will meet on the hardwood tonight. Tipoff is at 6:30. The Colonels need a win for a chance at getting a first round bye in next week’s Southland Conference Tournament.

The second-ranked LSU baseball team blanked Dartmouth three to nothing yesterday behind a sensational start from William Schmidt as he struck out nine over seven and a third innings. But the bats were quiet and they were quiet all weekend, only scoring 11 runs over the last three games. Tigers right fielder Jake Brown homered yesterday and says he’s not too worried about the offensive slump…

LSU is right back at it tonight as they host Northeastern.

The sixth-ranked LSU women’s basketball team concluded the regular season yesterday with a 72-63 win over Mississippi State. Mikayla Williams had her third-straight double-double, 26 points and 15 boards. LSU is the four seed in the SEC tournament and will play on Friday.

The Ragin Cajuns seven game winning streak was snapped on Friday, but U-L Lafayette won on Saturday and Sunday to take the three-game series against UC San Diego. The Cajuns held on for a four-to-three victory yesterday after taking a three-to-nothing lead into the sixth inning. Coach Matt Deggs wishes they could have made it easier on themselves…

Tough weekend for Louisiana Tech as the Bulldogs were swept by 12th ranked Southern Miss. The Golden Eagles outscored Tech 25 to 5.

ULM completed a sweep of Western Illinois by beating the Leathernecks 11 to seven. Dayne Wray homered for the third straight game for the Warhawks.

McNeese took two out of three from Nicholls and Southeastern took two out of three from Northwestern State.

The second-ranked LSU baseball team didn’t play its best game last night but it was good enough to beat Dartmouth 5 to 2. Derek Curiel had a two-run single and Jake Brown had an RBI double, but the Tigers only had five hits on the night. Coach Jay Johnson says they didn’t swing the bats well…

Gavin Guidry won his third game of the season as he allowed just one hit and struck out five over the final three and two-thirds innings. Today the Tigers play Northeastern at 2 PM.

Louisiana Tech fell to 12th-ranked Southern Miss eight to three, the Cajuns seven game winning streak came to a halt with a seven-to-three loss to U-C San Diego. ULM upended Western Illinois 12 to five.

Ragin Cajuns men’s basketball finished the regular season last night with an 81 to 58 loss to Arkansas State. U-L Lafayette will be the 12 seed in the Sun Belt Tournament next week and they’ll play Georgia State on Tuesday.

ULM finished Sun Belt play with a 1-and-17 record as they lost to Troy 80 to 65. The Warhawks will play Old Dominion in the opening round of the Sun Belt tourney.

LSU men’s basketball looks for its second straight win as the Tigers host Oklahoma at 5 PM. LSU is 3-and-12 in the SEC, while the Sooners are 4-and-11.

In other action today, Louisiana Tech hosts F-I-U at 2 PM.

Southern hosts the best team in the SWAC, Bethune-Cookman at 2:30. Grambling is also home today as the Tigers take on Florida A-and-M.

One of the best games of the day happens in New Orleans, as UNO hosts McNeese. Southeastern Louisiana is at Nicholls. Northwestern State visits Texas A-and-M Corpus Christi.

A little bit of a slow start, but the fifth-ranked LSU women’s basketball team eventually got it going and defeated Tennessee 89 to 73 to clinch a double bye in next week’s SEC Tournament. It was also the final regular-season home game for Flau’Jae Johnson, who had ten points. Johnson is looking forward to seeing what this team can do in March…

One regular season game left and that’s Sunday versus Mississippi State.

Louisiana Tech’s DJ Dudley had 27 points as the Bulldogs edged Missouri State 72 to 70. Will Allen had 13 points and scored the winning basket as he followed up a missed shot with a layup with eight seconds left.

The Pelicans defeated the tanking Utah Jazz 129 to 118. Saddiq Bey had 42 points!

The second-ranked LSU baseball team looks to bounce back tonight against Dartmouth after suffering its first loss of the season to McNeese on Tuesday. Coach Jay Johnson gave an injury update on senior left fielder Chris Stanfield.

Johnson also said sophomore catcher Cade Arrambide, who exited Tuesday’s game with a foot injury, is fine and will play this weekend.

The Ragin Cajuns have won seven in a row, and they host U-C San Diego. The 8-and-1 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs welcome 12th-ranked Southern Miss to J-C Love Field for a three-game series. ULM, which is 5-and-5, will host Western Illinois.

The Ragin Cajuns baseball team had hits third walk-off win since last Friday as Drew Markle hit a home run in the 11th inning to beat Kansas State, sweeping a two-game midweek series at Tigue Moore Field. U-L Lafayette has won seven in a row.

The LSU men’s basketball team ended its five game losing streak with a double overtime win over Ole Miss, 106 to 99. Afterwards the president and CEO of FMOL Health, EJ Kuiper, said coach Matt McMahon deserves another season. Kuiper is an influential booster of LSU athletics.

Governor Jeff Landry announced on his “X” account today that A-T-and-T is investing 45-million dollars to upgrade the network inside Tiger Stadium before the 2026 season. LSU President Wade Rousse joined Landry for the announcement. Rousse says when you have over 100-thousand people in one place, you need service that works…

LSU took a five-game losing streak into last night’s game against Ole Miss, while the Rebels had lost nine in a row. And it was the Tigers who came out on top in double overtime, outlasting Ole Miss 106 to 99. Max Mackinnon had a season high 33 points.

ULM lost its sixth in a row as the Warhawks lost to South Alabama 89 to 54.

Tonight the sixth ranked LSU women’s basketball team hosts Tennessee for senior night. Final home regular season game for Flau’jae Johnson, one of the best players in the Lady Tigers history. Coach Kim Mulkey says it will be an emotional night…

The Ragin Cajuns had their third walk-off in five days as U-L Lafayette defeated Kansas State three to two in 11 innings. Drew Markle sent everyone home happy with a solo home run. The Cajuns have won seven in a row.

ULM blanked Alcorn State 12 to nothing. Jackson Landry hit a grand slam and Seaver Sheets threw five scoreless innings for the win.

NFL combine workouts begin today, and there are several LSU players looking to boost their draft stocks. Among them is quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. Mike Detillier of WWL Radio believes Nussmeier will be the third quarterback off the board if he has an impressive week in Indianapolis.
