Many Louisiana Entergy customers are upset to see substantially higher utility bills this summer, despite being warned of as much by Entergy. The increases are due to additional charges for storm, repairs and higher natural gas costs. State Troopers say a single-vehicle crash, early this morning on state Highway 28 in Rapides Parish took the life of a Bastrop man. LSP says 62-year-old Byron Williams Jr’s big rig left the roadway, slammed into a culvert and burst into flame. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is under investigation.
