The Supreme Court has lifted a hold placed on Louisiana congressional maps thus opening the door for the maps to be redrawn. The order means lower court proceedings on the case can continue. The Court of Appeals Fifth Circuit will rule if the maps need to be redrawn to add a second majority-black district. The Supreme Court of the United States’ decision to return the issue to the lower court is on the heels of a 5-4 ruling that Alabama’s congressional maps must be redrawn.

The Tigers say yesterday’s thrashing in game two of the college world series championship round, is behind them and they are ready for game three tonight at 6pm.  Centerfielder Dylan Crews says following the final out in Sunday’s loss, they moved on to today’s game…

Legislation to create a crime prevention district in and around LSU’s campus has been signed by the governor. The National Flood Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2023 would provide vouchers to low- and moderate-income homeowners and renters if their premiums become too expensive.

The governor has signed legislation to create a crime prevention district on LSU’s campus and surrounding neighborhoods. Bill author Baton Rouge Representative Barbara Freiberg says the area is not immediately a crime prevention district, voters must approve the measure first.
